This is likely one of the reasons why the old version was deleted. The client is clunky and a lot of the original 3D art has been removed and replaced by 2D artwork that has been slightly animated. Voice lines have been straight up removed or changes, usually for the worse.
Ill keep it short since I only played on the reforged client a little bit but played the original broken. The WC3 that everyone loved is still there and is worth experiencing. but be warned The reforged client is not as stable as the older versions. aspects of multiplayer were taken out of the game. The older graphics are stylistically better.
Warcraft 3 was a timeless game, that you could pretty much install on any modern appliances now… Reforged takes like 30gig and is aesthetically a mess compared to the original art design. And lorewise pretty much everything has been retconned by now. With shadowlands being an affront to warcraft 3.

If you have completed Renowned you will be able to re-join a previous covenant by speaking to the covenant emissary in Oribos and confirming you want to change covenants. If you have not completed Renowned, you will need to speak to the emissary and then prove yourself to that Covenant again by completing two quests: Prove Your Worth and Don't bother with reforged. Unless you can no longer buy the classic version of wc3. It runs okay most of the time, real problem is that it used to run okay all of the time. Custom maps are where a lot of people stay and never leave. Id say its worth it for the custom maps alone, yeah. Pretty sure it's still missing, but you could manually upload the save file to a cloud. I had to do that when I'd switch from my PC to laptop. No it was not added. You can manually save your files. You can also use cheats to go anywhere you want in the campaign.
It doesn't get discussed as much as Defense of the Ancients, but Warcraft III had a surprising symbiosis with The Lord of the Rings—one that's worth revisiting, on the eve of Warcraft III: Reforged.
