The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens, when purchased in a kit with Canon EOS DSLR, is a good value. The incremental cost of this lens is low and the image quality is not bad. However, when compared to the better lenses such as the EF-S 15-85 and EF-S 17-55, what is lacking in image quality becomes more clear.
The Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens has an attractive finish and the usual ribbed-rubber-covered rings. The lens extends a small amount at both ends, fully retracting around the 14mm setting. Both rings are very smooth with no play. The rotational resistance of the zoom ring is on the light side, but good.
The EF-M 18-150mm does not suffer from severe vignetting. At 18mm, with lens at the maximum aperture of f/3.5, the corners show approximately 1.5 stops of vignetting. As the lens is stopped down to f/5.6, vignetting drops to about two-thirds of a stop. By f/8, there is essentially no vignetting.

1. HI, I have a EF 35-105 3.5-4.5 and use it extensively on my 1500D. I have found the quality of build and optics to out match the kit lens to a degree. At maximum aperture the object in center of the lens will be sharp, as you go out to the edges of the frame the image will blur out.
